Cosa Buona

So we’d been wanting to go to Cosa Buona for awhile and after one failed Friday night attempt – an hour and a half wait at 9pm – we realized that stopping in for a pre-Dodgers game dinner might be the best move.  And hoorah!  It was!  We had the place almost to ourselves when we arrived and grabbed two seats at the bar.  The food comes out really quickly here so we didn’t stress about being late for the game.  Joy!

Home Tour - Living Room

The living room space is open and bright, with a full wall of glass doors on one side that open out to the deck.  All things which are amazing.  But the space is long and narrow so it took a minute to figure out the best way to organize it.  I didn’t want to block things off too much on the deck side of the room.  I wanted a comfortable place to lounge and watch TV and a still comfortable but slightly more refined space on the dining room end of things.

Malibu Seafood Co

Malibu Seafood has been a long time fave.   Particularly good for impressing visiting guests – yes it is always 75 and sunny at the beach and we spend all of our days eating extremely fresh seafood at the beach – this is LA!  It is also great for a lazy weekend day when you have no plans.  No matter what time of year, on a sunny day a drive up PCH is hard to beat.

Lodge Bread Co

Lodge Bread Co has become a weekend breakfast + lunch fave for us.  It is a bit of a drive from our house but totally worth it for the amazing array of carbs they create.  As the name suggests they make a lot of bread here.  They started out as a little bakery selling mostly their pretty rustic loaves and some pastries and snacks.  They started out serving pizza on the weekends and then expanded into a bigger space so they could offer a bigger menu and beer and wine – hooray!

Glynn's Fave At Home Cocktail

My favorite cocktail in all of LA is the Sofia at Café Stella in Silverlake.  It hits all my requirements for a good drink – not too sweet, involves mezcal, is pink and pretty.  Kidding.  Sort of.  It is magical, trust me and always the perfect shade of pink with a delicate little pile of lime zest on top.

Home Tour - Master Bath

The one thing I knew when designing my master bathroom was that I wanted it to be ALL WHITE.  When I would browse Pinterest and screen shot Instagrams the bathrooms I liked always had a bit of color or at least black integrated into them but I knew I wanted to start with an absolutely clean slate and go from there.  My contractors and architect thought I must be exaggerating my commitment to the allwhite theme and were always making jokes about gifting me bright pink towels.  Um no.

Summer Dinner With Friends

A summer night is really the easiest time to have people over.  Summer food generally requires less work because there are so many fresh vegetables that need very little dressing up to taste great.  And it is much easier, or at least more pleasant to chat and hang out with guests while watching a grill than while hovering over the stove in a hot kitchen.

Palomas

This is the drink you should make for your next party.  Tequila has always been Glynn’s spirit of choice and everyone else seems to be getting on the train these days, or at least with our friends.  Palomas are light and refreshing and not overly sweet so they are perfect for hot summer weather.

Everyday Dinner

This is a typical lazy summer dinner for us.  When it is hot and we are trying to be sort of healthy (like when we’re going to Hawaii in two days and accidentally ate giant sandwiches for lunch at 3pm) we usually end up making a giant salad with grilled chicken or shrimp on top.
